Pharmacy is one of the popular field among the students. Education in pharmacy varies from one country to another. In India, the academic courses in the field of pharmacy starts from diploma level to doctoral level.
diploma of Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is an undergraduate diploma course in the field of Pharmacy education. The students those are interested in the medical field (except to become a doctor) can choose this course after the completion of class 12th (PCM/B). After the completion of this diploma, the students can practice as a Pharmacist. Pharmacists can work in a range of industries related to the prescription, manufacture & provision of medicines.
Pharmacists are the experts and health professionals who have done their studies in medicines. They can use their knowledge of medicines for the benefit of patients.
The Pharmacy Courses are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) – 2 year
Eligibility Criteria
It is the diploma in pharmacy. The minimum qualification of 10+2 is required. It must be passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology subjects. For admission to this course, candidates must have completed 17 years of the year of admission.
Note: D.Pharm (Diploma of Pharmacy) holders are eligible for admission into B.Pharm (lateral entry).
Intake: – 60 seats in D.Pharm
Admission Procedure
From counselling conducted by BTE - Candidates shortlisted based on their entrance examination rank called for the counselling.
Direct Admission
- Qualifying Exam: Candidate must have passed 12th from UP Board or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
- Subjects: Candidates must pass 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as a compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology subjects.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates must pass the above exam with minimum 45% (for general candidate) and 40 % (for SC/ST candidate).
